Resolved Cases Versus Pending Cases
AARO’s reporting framework separates cases into those that can be explained and those that cannot yet be explained with confidence. This distinction is important because unresolved does not mean inexplicable. A case may remain open for several reasons:
- Incomplete sensor data.
- Lack of corroborating observations.
- Missing contextual information such as weather or flight records.
- Poor image quality.
- Conflicting measurements from different systems.

Why an Unresolved Label Is Not an Origin Finding
One of the most persistent misunderstandings in UFO discussions is the assumption that if investigators cannot identify an object, the probability of an exotic explanation increases automatically.

Why No Verified Alien Technology Finding Matters
The strongest and most widely discussed AARO conclusion concerns claims that governments or contractors possess recovered extraterrestrial craft or technology.
