Simple Tests with Lights, Angles and Open Windows
The fastest way to check whether a suspected UFO is actually a reflected room light is to alter the viewing conditions.
Turn off the interior light. If the object disappears immediately, the source was probably inside.
Change your position. Reflections usually move relative to the outdoor background when the observer shifts sideways.
Open the window. If the object vanishes when the glass is removed from the optical path, the reflection explanation becomes very likely.
Compare with room fixtures. Look for lamps, chandeliers or illuminated devices that roughly match the object’s shape.
Take a second photograph from a different angle. Reflections often move or distort between shots, while genuine distant objects remain aligned with the external scene.
These simple checks are often enough to distinguish a true object in the sky from a reflected light source inside the room.
